"Indiana Line Diva 6" yra tvirtai suprojektuota ir sukonstruota 2,5 diapazono kolonėlė, įkvėpta ankstesnių serijos modelių.

Diva 6

The Diva 6 model is a 3-way construction that sets new standards for sound reproduction fidelity not only in the history of the Indiana Line brand but also in the speaker market. It features four Curv membrane drivers—three responsible for the low frequencies and one handling the mid-range frequencies. These drivers are specifically designed and optimised for the Diva 6 model. Completing the setup is the tweeter, also used in Diva 3, Diva 5, and Diva 7 speakers, ensuring spatial, open, and crystal-clear soprano tones, along with a sturdy enclosure with a bass-reflex port located at the base.

Indiana Line Diva 6

Floor-standing speaker Diva 6 reflects the continuous pursuit of perfection by Indiana engineers. The goal remains to combine high-quality production with rational component utilisation and consistent product improvement. This approach has resulted in the Diva 6 surpassing speakers in a similar price range in many aspects. Notably, it boasts exceptional voltage efficiency considering its size, effectively filling spaces with sound even at low volume levels.

Sturdy enclosure with a slightly inclined front

The Diva 6 speaker enclosure consists of two parts made of MDF board. One of them is a solid lacquered, backward-tilted front panel, which is 30 mm thick. It enhances the mechanical stability of the speaker and prevents unwanted resonances, significantly improving sound clarity. The interior of the Diva 6 model hides four cross reinforcements connecting all walls. Additional reinforcement includes a sealed chamber for the midrange driver. All these features prevent internal vibrations from transferring to the enclosure walls. The speaker rests on sturdy aluminium legs equipped with rubber vibration isolators, lending the speaker a noble appearance and preventing vibration propagation. The attractive design of the Diva 6 model is accentuated by a magnetically attached grille.

Enhanced electroacoustic transducers

In terms of construction, we have a 3-way model here, based on transducers similar to those used in Diva 3 and Diva 5 speakers. However, each transducer has been created and optimized specifically for the Diva 6 model. They all feature ferrite magnetic circuits, and the set of four drivers, handling low and mid frequencies, boasts Curv membranes made of woven polypropylene. Compared to previous generation Diva series models (such as the Diva 650), the Diva 6 features changes in speaker baskets, now with smoother ribbing. This design reduces air resistance behind the membrane, minimising unwanted resonances. The baskets work seamlessly with the Dual-Wave suspension, ensuring not only optimal functionality but also exceptional aesthetics.

Processing low frequencies

Three electroacoustic transducers with concave dust caps are responsible for processing low frequencies. They feature long, nearly 15-millimeter, multi-layer coils and thick aluminium rings to linearize inductance. These are decidedly the most powerful drive units ever used in Indiana Line floor-standing speakers. They allow for large, linear membrane excursions. The total volume of air displaced by them is comparable, if not greater, than that of the Diva 660 model from the previous generation, which was equipped with a pair of much larger, 6.5-inch woofers. Additionally, due to the size of each low-frequency transducer membrane used in the Diva 6 speaker column, they move exceptionally quickly and precisely while maintaining low distortion levels, even at high sound levels.

Specially designed midrange speaker

The Diva 6 model features a specially designed midrange transducer, which is located above the low-frequency section in a dedicated and appropriately dampened enclosed chamber. It is therefore separated from both the resonant space of the bass reflex system and the woofer array. It features a strong 90 mm ferrite magnet and a short, only 9-millimeter coil. This transducer also has a copper shorting ring placed directly in the magnetic gap. Due to the strong magnetic saturation of the core and the proper use of copper, low inductance and a widely stretched SPL characteristics are achieved. Also noteworthy is the low level of distortion originating from the iron present in the drive, which usually has a negative impact on sound quality.

High-frequency transducer

The tweeter in the Diva 6 model is a design also used in other speakers from the new generation of the Diva series. It provides spacious, open, and crystal-clear high tones. This is achieved through tuning using crossover filters containing only air coils and foil capacitors, as well as special, Radial Venting Chamber, that counteracts resonances behind the high-frequency dome. The front panel of the tweeter is cast from aluminium and has a rubberized surface. This contributes to widening the soundstage and better filling the room with sopranos. Furthermore, the proper tuning of the tweeter with the midrange speaker ensures excellent homogeneity and full sound in the key range from 2 to 4 kHz.

Proprietary upper suspension design

The midrange and low-frequency transducers use the Dual-Wave upper suspension. This unique, precisely designed upper suspension prevents resonance of the suspension-membrane system during midrange playback. It also widens the linear operating range of the speaker, resulting in much cleaner low bass reproduction while reducing intermodulation distortion and improving articulation of the midrange. This has a particularly positive impact on the sound of percussion, string, and acoustic instruments. Thanks to the Dual-Wave solution, frequency response irregularities resulting from membrane edge resonance are also reduced. The visually pleasing external appearance of the Dual-Wave transducers is reminiscent of the design of professional stage speakers with so-called accordion suspensions.

Transducers with Curv membrane

In the 3-way Diva 6 column, both the low-frequency and mid-frequency speakers feature membranes made of Curv material (polypropylene composite). The use of this type of solution in the bass transducer ensures more neutral and precise reproduction of bass tones. These membranes are produced exclusively for the Indiana Line company. The utilization of Curv membranes ensures that both the low and mid tones generated by the electroacoustic transducers in the Diva 6 column are exceptionally clean and natural. Furthermore, the unique properties of the Dual-Wave suspension emphasize the excellent sound of membranes made from this polypropylene composite.

Optimized crossover

The crossover used in the Diva 6 model has been redesigned and properly optimized, allowing the Diva 6 to work practically with any transistor amplifier. The circuit topology, the number of components used, and their parameters have been precisely selected based on multiple acoustic measurements and then hours of listening tests. As a result, the frequency response is precise and balanced. Refined filtering combined with the characteristics of the electroacoustic transducers used in the Diva 6 model also guarantees a very even characteristic off the main axis of the column. This influences deep, yet natural sound with spacious high tones, regardless of the acoustic environment in which the column is located.

Bass reflex in the base

The Diva 6 has a bass reflex enclosure with a port located in the base. This solution has allowed us to reinforce the energy of low frequencies without excessively boosting this range of the acoustic spectrum. Here we have tuning with a gently declining, yet low-reaching bass characteristic. The resonance frequency is set at a low 36 Hz. Thanks to appropriately selected woofers, captivating dynamics and fast bass, as well as excellent control, have been achieved, even when playing electronic recordings with clearly emphasized low tones. The advantage of a bass reflex port directed towards the ground compared to a front bass reflex is also that resonances and noises generated by the port are much less audible. Considering the undeniable advantages of the bass and midrange of the Diva 6 model, this is of considerable importance.
